Científicos del Observatorio Europeo Austral identificaron una pareja de estrellas que les ayudó a probar la teoría de la relatividad de Einstein, de acuerdo con la institución científica desde su sede en Garching, al sur de Alemania.
Las estrellas se ubican a 7,000 años luz de la Tierra, en un lugar hasta ahora inédito y en condiciones de fuerza de gravedad extremas.
La Teoría General de la Relatividad, propuesta por Albert Einstein hace casi un siglo, es la más aceptada sobre cómo funciona la gravedad, pero la mayoría de los científicos cree que solo puede aplicarse a la Tierra, donde la fuerza de la gravedad es relativamente débil.
